Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims observe fasting from dawn until sunset. The month is also a time for increased charity and acts of kindness, including the distribution of food aid and providing Iftar meals to those in needs. In Cambodia, Emaan Foundation Cambodia provided iftar meals during Ramadan. These efforts focused on helping the poor and vulnerable, including widows, orphans, the needy families and the elderly.
The project’s goal is to provide assistance and food to Cambodian villagers in need. We work in teams on the ground, sponsored by donors, to ensure food is delivered to vulnerable families and those in needs. Emaan Foundation Cambodia, in partnership with Emaan Catalyst Community, has implemented Ramadan Iftar programs at Phnom Penh, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Thom, Koh Kong, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Pailen Province, Battambang, Kampot Province, Preah Sihanouk, Kep Province and Kratie province this year.
