Donor FAQs – Waqf Land Campaign
1. Why is each lot priced at $500?
Each lot represents a portion of the total land cost, including purchase, legal, and administrative fees. By breaking it into $500 lots, we make it easier for more people to participate in this waqf project, while still covering the full cost transparently.
2. What is the total land size?
The land is 3,370sqm divided into 180 lots. Each lot is equivalent to 18.7sqm of land.
3. Why do you use lots instead of selling by square meters?
Lots are simpler to understand and easier to promote for fundraising. Instead of saying “X sqm,” we say “1 lot = $500,” which is more donor-friendly and directly linked to the cause.
4. Where is the land located?
The land is located in Kompong Tralach District, Kompong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. It will be permanently endowed (waqf) for the education of needy students and orphans.
5. What will the land be used for?
The land will be used to expand our school building and facilities (Emaan International School), which already supports hundreds of needy students and orphans. With this land, we can accept more students, build classrooms, and create sustainable educational spaces.
6. How does waqf benefit me as a donor?
Waqf is a continuous charity (sadaqah jariyah). As long as children study on this land, you will continue to receive reward (pahala) even after your lifetime. It is an everlasting deed.
7. Can I buy more than one lot?
Yes. Donors may purchase multiple lots. Some donors prefer to sponsor several lots on behalf of their families, parents, or even as sadaqah for loved ones who have passed away.
8. Will my name be recorded?
Yes. Donors will be recorded in our waqf contributors’ list. Some may also choose to dedicate their donation anonymously. A certificate of appreciation will also be given.
9. Is this project officially managed?
Yes. The project is managed by Emaan Foundation Cambodia, a registered local foundation, and all funds are accounted for transparently through the banking system.
10. What happens if the target of 180 lots is not reached?
All collected funds will still be used to secure the land. If there is a shortfall, Emaan Foundation Cambodia will seek additional support to complete the purchase.
